FedRAMP Codified Under FY23 NDAA

On December 23, 2022, the FedRAMP Authorization Act was signed into law by the President as part of the FY23 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). According to FedRAMP, “The Act codifies the FedRAMP program as the authoritative standardized approach to security assessment and authorization for cloud computing products and services that process unclassified federal information.”

What was once initiated by a 2011 policy memo from the OMB, FedRAMP now has legal backing and confirms the designation of GSA as the primary administrator of this program, with support from OMB. The FedRAMP Act also encourages, “more robust transparency and dialogue between industry and the federal government to drive stronger adoption of secure cloud capabilities and reduce legacy information technology with the inception of the Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee.”

MonsterGov received FedRAMP Agency Authorization for its MHME federal talent acquisition in May 2022, and its next-generation solutions for Onboarding and Analytics are in process of getting authorization under a FedRAMP Significant Change Request (SCR). This FedRAMP Agency Authorization, which was sponsored by GSA, ensures MHME is meeting critical security requirements and allows other federal agencies to leverage the FedRAMP security package available in the marketplace to execute their own TAS ATOs, saving on significant time, money, and resources. MonsterGov is continuing to work with its federal agency clients and security teams to ensure they are meeting FedRAMP requirements that secure and protect sensitive agency and job seeker data.
